Hi, I’m Sarah and I live in Wellington, New Zealand.
Welcome to Sarah Tramps NZ my new website detailing tramping and mountaineering trip reports from around NZ. The site is now live and content is being added regularly. I hope to build a useful resource for the tramping community, blending first-hand trip accounts with high-quality photographs and helpful route guides.
As it is a newly launched site, it currently is very much a work in progress. I am uploading an extensive backlog of trips, and adding news ones as I come back from the hills. Whether you are looking for a day-walk close to home, a multiday trip into our wilderness areas, or perhaps some conservation projects, the library is growing. I hope that you will follow along as I map out new terrain and share the wonder and beauty of the NZ mountains.
My Community Connections:
I am a member of the Wellington Tramping & Mountaineering Club (WTMC) and over the last 6 years, I have contributed many trip reports to their online newsletter. You will find some of those stories archived here on sarahtrampsnz, updated with extra photos and personal insights from my time in the hills.
I also belong to trapping groups in the Wellington area and assist with Remutaka lines.
I have volunteered with DOC conservation programs including assisting the critically endangered dotterel on the Tin Range, Stewart Island.
